Belly Bandit Original post-pregnancy tummy wrap

Mar 06

  • The Belly Bandit is an abdominal compression wrap designed to assist you in bringing your body back to its former beauty and proportion after child birth. Hand wash. Minimizes swelling. Adds abdominal support and comfort after C-Section. Helps minimize stretch marks.
  • If you are purchasing a Belly Bandit early on in your pregnancy best rule of thumb is to go up 1 to 2 band sizes from your pre-pregnancy size.
  • In the eighth month many women will be the same size as they will be post delivery. Simply measure the circumference of your waist starting at your belly button. Choose the corresponding band for your size.
  • Just prior to delivery simply subtract 3 to 5 inches from your waist measurement. Select the corresponding band for that size.
  • If you purchase your Belly Bandit after you give birth, simply choose the corresponding band for your waist size.

Product Description
The worst part about the miraculous arrival of your long-awaited newborn is the disappearance of your rock-hard abs. Okay, they were the size of the average beach ball, but your pregnant tummy was hard, was it not? Lots of cultures deal with this floppy mass of atrophied muscle and fat (hey, it’s not pretty — I’m not trying to sugar-coat things for you!) with some form of binding. The best I was able to do after having my twins was a corset, but that only worked for a week or so, because your belly will shrink. And once the corset is no longer snug, it won’t do any good. The Belly Bandit is the answer! Hailed by moms and even one of my doctors (!), it’s even good for after a C-section. But it helps you look and feel good, which is the One Hot Mama mission!

I bought this item to assist sculpting my wife’s post partum belly. It does what it advertises, but I suspect the product is over priced.

  2. This belt does help with hiding the belly. However, with the constipation and incision pain, I cannot wear it too often. In addition, the size is very difficult to determine. I bought a small and could not wear it at the hospital. It fits now, but these are too expensive to buy two sizes… esp when you are only going to wear the larger size for a few days.

I saw another belt at Babies R Us which was 1/2 the price. I would recommend that belt over this one. Any support is great while riding in a car.

After my granddaughter’s baby shower, I asked her what one gift she really wanted that she did not receive. She replied a “Belly Bandit” and that it was available on Amazon. I found the listing and then asked her what size and color and ordered it. I came within 3 days and she is very happy with it. Oh, Baby Andrew was 8 lbs., 13 oz. and 20″ long!!!

  4. It does help hold in your belly, but if you have hips and a butt it does not fit right. It would bunch up in the back for me, I think because I am short so I have short torso and I have hips and big butt that sticks out so the belly bandit wouldn’t lay flat. It is velcro and I felt like if I went dancing or moved too much, it would start to come undone and everyone would hear the velcro. I do not think it is a good buy. I would not recommend it, buy some spanx instead. I do not wear it enough to know if it would help firm your midsection, but I find that hard to believe.

Perhaps I am too short-waisted to use this, but it did not fit right. The wrap did not lay flat, as it could not be tightened the same around my hips. This was so expensive, too. Too bad- it sounded too good to be true.
